Somerset Stages Rally
After a dominant display over the forest tracks of Exmoor National Park, defending champions Hugh Hunter & Andy Marchbank in their Ford Focus WRC have won the Butlins Somerset Stages Rally for the second consecutive year.

May I take this opportunity to thank everyone of you who came and helped run the Somerset this year. Without doubt this is probably one of the best events we have run, and proof of this is the many comments we had at prize giving and after. A lot of work goes into running an event like this, as you are all aware, and to get great comments really does mean a lot. Thanks to those of you who also came and helped on Friday either in service or in the "funnel" on the main road. Again to fit 150 rally cars and service barges into the area is no mean feat but it worked well.
Please pass on our thanks to everyone who came and assissted you, again without them this event could not run and I amy not have all their contact details.
As soon as I am aware of the 2013 date I will let you all know so you can pencil it into your diaries.

Could you please pass on my thanks for the contribution that Minehead motor Club made towards the smooth running of the two Knowle stages at the weekend, not only from an officials point of view but also general marshals. It certainly made my job easier. Thankfully the weather was exceptionally kind to us as well, as when I returned to Taunton in the evening I was informed that they had had some rain and hail no less.

I’m sure that not all those who helped are on your committee, so if it is possible to thank all through your club website I would be most grateful.

Winter Tour, Sunday 25th March 2012

The sun shone on the Winter Tour of 2012. A smashing day greeted entrants who left the start from the Valiant Soldier at Luxborough for a route over Exmoor before returning back to the Valiant for a superb Sunday Lunch.

The Minehead Motor Club was formed in 1962 to further motorsport, and today is organising various events for the enjoyment of motorsport enthusiasts. The club is located in West Somerset, and consists of about 90 members of all ages.

We are recognised by the Motor Sports Association, the Auto Cycle Union and are a member club of the Association of South-Western Motor Clubs (ASWMC), and the Association of Classic Trials Clubs (ACTC).

Events include The Somerset Stages Rally jointly organised with Burnham-on-Sea Motor Club. The Exmoor Clouds Classic Trial, and The Tour of Exmoor. We also run a series of Car Trials and Gymkhanas.
